Robert Paul and his wife first called Better Call Behnken a week ago, saying their home was a total loss after Hurricane Helene and their insurance claim was quickly approved. The first settlement check of $30,000 didn’t arrive until March, and then the check wasn’t good.

That hasn’t been possible for five months because, she said, the U.S. Postal Service lost the urn containing her father’s ashes in transit from Georgia, where he died, to Spring Hill, Florida, where she lives. It was supposed to be sent to her through overnight mail and should have arrived on Nov. 19.
