Louisiana softball didn’t get to relish in the ongoing NCAA Softball Tournament and World Series festivities this year as it has in the past, but there is still a buzz around Lamson Park. The Ragin’ Cajuns’ 29-25 overall finish under first-year head coach Alyson Habetz wasn’t the result she or Cajun Nation was hoping for, but it’s a stepping stone to what's to come. As Habetz and her staff look ahead to the 2026 season, local recruits will be a focal point of getting UL back to the tournament.

Louisiana baseball has renewed life after surviving its first elimination game on Thursday against Georgia Southern in the Sun Belt tournament. The No. 5-seeded Ragin’ Cajuns had to get gritty and dig deep to make a comeback to beat the Eagles 5-4 and live on to fight another day. That day has come and they will face a familiar foe in No. 4 seed Marshall, which beat them in their first game of the tournament.
