The work never stops in the offseason for high school football players as it is the prime time for prospects to get in front of college recruiters and boost their stocks. That is the case for Opelousas Catholic wide receiver Roderick Tezeno who has quickly become the top Class of 2026 prospect to hail from Lafayette Parish and its surrounding area. The 6-foot-2 and 175-pounder has been racking in Division I offers during the offseason, amassing 23 offers so far.

Things didn’t go as planned for Louisiana baseball on its road trip to Monroe to face the University of Louisiana-Monroe for a three-game Sun Belt Conference series. After the Ragin’ Cajuns (17-22, 8-7) handled their in-state rivals on Friday with a 9-3 win, things went downhill on Saturday and Sunday. The Warhawks gobsmacked the Cajuns in the next two games to win the series 2-1. This series loss marked the first time in 13 years that UL has lost a conference series against ULM.

Outside of the diamond, there have been track meets galore featuring some of the fastest athletes hailing from the 337.

As the regular season comes to an end for high school baseball in the 337, these last few games have a lot riding on them and that was the case in St. Thomas More's season finale versus Southside. For the Cougars, a sweep over the Sharks was on the line, while Southside is still on the hunt to land a spot in the LHSAA Baseball playoff bracket, which is set to release on April 15.
