The series will take in 2028 and 2029 with the first matchup taking place at Tiger Stadium Sept. 2, 2028. LSU will make the return trip to SMU Sept. 1, 2029. As it stands, unless LSU adds any Week 0 games to those years, both games with the Mustangs will be season openers for the Tigers.
