A former Fort Stewart soldier is awaiting sentencing after being convicted by a federal jury of child sexual abuse.Forty-two-year-old Cedrick Robinson, of Oxford, Mississippi, was found guilty of aggravated sexual abuse of a child and attempted production of a visual depiction of a minor engaging in sexually explicit conduct.According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, Southern District of Georgia, courtroom testimony said Robinson abused a 9-year-old child back in December 2013.

Dozens of people dressed in their best casual wear packed Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia Thursday night for its 19th annual Jewels and Jeans Fundraiser.Guests were treated to lots of great food and drinks from a host of area restaurants, a live band, and a silent auction and raffle all for a good cause. It benefits childhood hunger in the community.

Beaufort police investigate shooting near apartment complex

There is a large police presence in the area of Garden Oaks Apartments in Beaufort, according to police. Authorities are investigating a shooting. Beaufort police said there is no threat to the public and the scene is secure. They ask that you avoid the area. No further details have been released.If you have any information relating to the shooting, contact the Beaufort Police Department.
