It is owned by Hearst Television and has its transmitter located in the unincorporated area of western Chatham County, close to Bloomingdale. The station's studios are situated within the Savannah Morning News building on Chatham Parkway in Savannah. This building also previously housed WTGS (channel 28), a Fox affiliate licensed to Hardeeville, South Carolina, which is now owned by the Sinclair Broadcast Group and operates independently from WJCL.
