THE Zimbabwe Football Association (Zifa) executive committee last week reflected on its first 100 days in office, affirming its collective resolve to restore integrity, transform football administration and usher in a new era of excellence for Zimbabwean football. The new team was voted into office on January 25 this year to replace the Fifa-installed normalisation committee, which had been baby-sitting the association for nearly two years.

Five professional golfers were involved in a car accident which claimed the life of Morton Kombai following the conclusion of FBC Zim Open on Sunday. The golfers were involved in the accident just outside Harare's central business district and are admitted in hospital. Zimbabwe Golf Association confirmed that two Zimbabwean golfers, a Ghanaian and a Malawian professional are all hospitalized but Kombai passed on.

ZIMBABWE recorded a major leap in gold deliveries in April this year, with nearly four tonnes of the yellow metal delivered to Fidelity Gold Refinery, signalling renewed energy in the mining sector, largely driven by small-scale miners. The spike was a key highlight at a gold mobilisation workshop held last week, where industry players, government officials and stakeholders convened to assess progress and align on strategies to boost gold output even further.
