Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has failed to commit to a single recommendation from the Sky News Antisemitism Summit. A month after the recommendations were first put forward, at the conclusion of the bipartisan summit by the Executive Council of Australian Jewry’s Co-CEO, Alex Ryvchin, Mr Albanese sent a letter to the organisation where he did not commit to a single suggestion. Instead, he outlined the measures his government had already taken to combat antisemitism.

A Chinese Government research vessel is circumnavigating the southern coast of Australia, in a path that is tracking a similar route to our deep-sea submarine cable. Sky News has confirmed the Chinese scientific research vessel, “Tan Suo Yi Hao”, is currently off the coast of South Australia and is within Australia’s exclusive economic zone. The vessel is considered a “spy ship” and is understood to have a dual-purpose; legitimate scientific research while collecting intelligence.

Ben Roberts-Smith’s parents have spoken out in support of their son’s bid to have his defamation case against Nine re-heard after it was revealed by Sky News that Nick McKenzie had been briefed on the soldier’s legal strategy. Ben Roberts-Smith’s application for a retrial of his war crimes defamation case will be heard by Sydney’s Federal Court on Monday. A brief case management hearing, before Justice Nye Perram, is being held to set a timetable to hear the application in full.

The Victoria Cross recipient had requested an urgent hearing from the Full Federal Court, claiming there had been a “miscarriage of justice”, after Sky News broadcast audio recordings where Nine journalist Nick McKenzie claimed to have obtained part of his legal strategy.
