A silver Toyota collided with the boy who was riding his bike in Astley Road. He suffered minor injuries. The driver failed to stop after the incident. The collision took place at around 3.35pm on May 2, 2025.

The German discount chain was granted permission for the new Harleston shop in October 2022. However, Lidl bosses said in 2024 that they were unsure when the development of the store would be complete, with "no firm timescales" given for the opening. There had been a wrangle over how much Lidl should pay South Norfolk Council in what is known as the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL).

Lyng road to close for FIVE days for £11,600 surface repairs

Collen's Green in Lyng will be closed from May 19 to May 23 to allow workers to remove the existing road surface and replace it with a new surface material. A full road closure is required for this work to take place and to maintain a safe working area for the council's subcontractors. A signed diversion route will be in place for the duration of the closure, with pedestrian access being maintained at all times.
Man recovering in hospital with serious injuries following attack

Police were called at 11.46pm on Saturday after reports that a man had been assaulted following a fight with another man in Church Street. The victim was taken by air ambulance to Addenbrooke’s Hospital with serious injuries but is now in a stable condition and recovering in hospital. A road closure was in place in Church Street while police investigated the circumstances around the incident.
A-road to close for three nights on two occasions for carriageway repairs

The A1064 Main Road, located in Filby, will close, with the works set to be split up into two phases. The first phase is programmed to start on or soon after May 22, 2025 with the second starting June 5. The scheme will involve adding a new layer to the existing surface. The works are expected to take up to three nights each to complete, weather permitting.

Texas-style BBQ is one of the classes Sean offers, where pork ribs, brisket and meat sausage are smoked over wood, which acts like a seasoning.

David Hill, who is believed to be in the Southend-on-Sea area in Essex, is wanted by Norfolk Constabulary. He is described as white, around 5ft 7 inches tall, of a medium build, bald and cleanly shaven. Anyone who has seen him or knows of his whereabouts is asked to contact police quoting reference 36/26856/25.
Man taken to hospital with facial injuries after city centre attack

2 1/1 A man in his 20s was taken to hospital with facial injuries after an attack. Officers were called to the scene following reports of an attack in Queen Street, Norwich, at 10.56pm on Saturday. A man sustained injuries and was taken to hospital for further treatment. Following the attack, another man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of assault and taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.
