Jayhawks Open Conference Tournament Play

Following a first-round bye in the Big 12 Tournament championship, the Kansas Jayhawks will take the court tonight looking to advance to the quarterfinals. The No. 6 seed Jayhawks draw the No. 14 seed UCF Golden Knights, with the winner moving on to play No. 3 seed Arizona on Thursday night. KU enters following a win over Arizona on March 8th, and are 20-11 overall on the season.
Fredonia Races Away from Chargers in GOW

The Fredonia Yellow Jackets continue to play their best basketball at home this season, racing away from the Cherryvale Chargers in a 76-43 win. Fredonia opened the game shooting the ball well, with seniors Emmit Couch and Elias Barnett leading the scoring charge. Cherryvale would go on a late first half run to cut the deficit to seven, but Fredonia led 43-32 at the break.
Lady Ravens Travel to NEO

The Lady Ravens will travel south to take on the NEO Lady Norsemen tonight in Miami. Coffeyville is looking to complete a perfect 5-0 non-conference schedule, as well as sweep the two meetings with NEO this season. The Lady Ravens defeated the Lady Norsemen 69-53 in the Gilham's Classic earlier this month. NEO has a track record of success in second matchups, making adjustments to defeat opponents in the rematch. Head Coach Tony Turner says NEO has been attacking more down low offensively.
Raven Basketball Kicks off New Season

Basketball season has arrived in Coffeyville, with both the men's and women's team's opening their new year tonight. The Lady Ravens open the season at home against Connors State College, a team that qualified for the national tournament a year ago. CCC has plenty of new faces on the roster, with a lot of questions to answer early in the season. Head Coach Tony Turner says the sophomores with experience will need to lead the team tonight.
CCC Player Spotlight: Desmond Marshall

The KGGF Men's Basketball Spotlight Series continues with sophomore guard Desmond Marshall. Des is a sophomore from Fort Smith, Arkansas, who appeared in seven games as a freshman. He joins an experienced backcourt with Justin Taylor, Jeremiah Kemboi, and Brian Griffith. Marshall says the sophomores have been pushing each other. Marshall is a fantastic outside shooter, and recently won the 3-point contest at Raven Madness.
Wildcats Travel to Morgantown

Kansas State continues their road trip with a visit to Morgantown to square off with the West Virginia Mountaineers. The Wildcats are in the thick of conference title contention, sitting one game back of BYU, Iowa State, and Texas Tech. West Virginia is 3-3 on the season, with a 2-1 record in conference play. KSU Head Coach Chris Klieman says the Mountaineers have an elite rushing attack.

Fredonia enters the matchup with a 2-4 record, and looking to snap a three game skid, while Riverton is 3-3 on the season. Yellow Jacket Head Coach Marc Svaty says the Rams bring a lot of talent to the field.
Ravens Host Blue Dragons on Homecoming

The Distinguished Alumni Banquet and CCC Athletics Football Letterman Hall of Fame ceremony will be Friday night in Nellis Hall. Athletic Director Bryce Saia says three players and a coach are part of this year's induction class. Coffeyville has produced countless legendary athletes, with Heisman winners, olympians, and champions across multiple sports.
