KGGF-AM
KGGF (690 MHz) is a commercial AM radio station located in Coffeyville, Kansas. It features a talk radio programming format and is owned by Sek Media, LLC. The station's studios and offices are situated on West 8th Street in Coffeyville. During the day, KGGF broadcasts at a power of 10,000 watts, reaching audiences in parts of Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, and Arkansas. Since AM 690 is designated as a clear channel frequency in Canada and Mexico, KGGF reduces its power to 5,000 watts at night to minimize interference with other stations. The station operates a directional antenna at all times. The transmitter, a Harris DX-10, has been in use since 1997. KGGF employs a two-tower array during the day and switches to a four-tower array at night, with its towers located off Clay Road.

Recently retired Caney City Administrator Kelley Zellner has passed away. The passing was confirmed by the city of Caney on its website yesterday afternoon. Before serving at Caney, Zellner was the city manager at Fort Scott, a city administrator at Fredonia, Public Works Director at Valley Center and Police Chief in Conway Springs. No funeral arrangements have been released.

The Fredonia Yellow Jackets continue to play their best basketball at home this season, racing away from the Cherryvale Chargers in a 76-43 win. Fredonia opened the game shooting the ball well, with seniors Emmit Couch and Elias Barnett leading the scoring charge. Cherryvale would go on a late first half run to cut the deficit to seven, but Fredonia led 43-32 at the break.

The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office assists in a capital murder investigation. On Tuesday at around 11:30am, the Sheriff’s Office received an alert from one of their license plate readers regarding a vehicle wanted in connection with a capital murder case in Hidalgo County, Texas. The vehicle was traveling through the county on Highway 169. Deputies, with assistance from the Cherryvale Police Department and the Kansas Highway Patrol, successfully located the vehicle.
