A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after two people were injured last summer. West Midlands Police said the arrest followed an incident in Clapgate Lane, Bartley Green, Birmingham, on 28 August where a man suffered a gunshot wound and another man a fractured skull. A 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder on Saturday night. The arrest followed a short foot chase after officers stopped a suspicious vehicle, police said.

The pair, aged 21 and 22, were arrested on Tuesday after a man in his 20s suffered serious facial injuries at Caludon Castle Park, on 21 October, West Midlands Police said. A 19-year-old man was previously charged with attempted murder in connection with the incident, officers said.
