Mahalo to Dave N Jo Owen from Australia for sharing this Aloha Friday Photo. Dave and Jo’s photo shows the entrance of the U.S.S. Arizona Memorial in Pearl Harbor. From this view you can get an idea of how the memorial stands above the water with the sunken battleship below water. This point is where the Navy-operated shuttle boat drops off and picks up visitors. When in this vicinity, there is usually a respectful silence that falls on visitors. To be sure, it is a moving place to visit.

Mahalo to Erin Markson for sharing this stunning Aloha Friday Photo. Erin captured this photo on May 6th during Kilauea’s 20th episode of this on-again-off-again eruption phase. The first episode of these incredible lava fountains started December 23, 2024 in Halemaumau crater within Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. The fountains have been reaching heights of well over 500 feet (150 meters). Erin told us that she’s been waiting/trying for over 20 years to witness an eruption.

Mahalo to Gladys Whitman for sharing this lovely Aloha Friday Photo. I believe this photo may have been taken from Waikiki Beach. In this scene, we notice the surfers enjoying the last waves in the daylight, while this couple soaks in this golden sunset.
