Shelly Tan is a graphics reporter and illustrator specializing in design and illustrative storytelling. She joined the Washington Post in 2014, initially as a member of the digital story design team, which focused on creating new templates and experiences for stories. She has worked primarily on the pop culture beat since 2017. Prior to joining the Washington Post, she worked as an intern with NPR's Visuals team.
