    ECONOMYNEXT – State-owned SriLankan Airlines was able to get favourable terms for its latest Airbus lease from French-based Carlyle Aviation Partners for an 8-year, its Chairman Sarath Ganegoda said. SriLankan added a new A330 Airbus to its fleet on Wednesday (04) expanding the total number to 23. “The engineering staff and the finance staff have done a fantastic job in getting very fanourable terms in acquiring this on a dry lease,” Ganegoda told reporters when asked about the terms of the lease.

The aircraft, arriving on its delivery flight from Paris, flew at an altitude of 1,500 feet along the Colombo shoreline with an spectacular visibility from the southern end of Port City to Moratuwa, before returning to land at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA).
