Osman Abdullah, 19, came to the UK from Sudan two years ago, and was helped to acclimatese to the country with the help of the YMCA.

The Old County Hall building in Ipswich has been put on sale (Image: Lucy Taylor) The owner of the historic East Suffolk County Hall in Ipswich has put the site on sale despite a planning approval promise to "see an application through". Ipswich Borough Council had given planning approval to site owner David Harris to convert the Grade II*-listed site in St Helen's Street into 40 homes in 2020.

The Campaign to Save Mental Health Services in Norfolk and Suffolk group wrote to the parliamentary under-secretary for mental health Baroness Gillian Merron as it received no response to the concerns that had been raised with her previously.

McDonald's has apologised to Roshane McClymont over the matter (Image: Contributed) A McDonald's customer said taking a bite out of his breakfast wrap from an Ipswich restaurant left him needing hospital treatment. Roshane McClymont, from Debenham, came to Ipswich on Sunday, April 13, to meet his partner. The couple decided to order and pick up breakfast from the Whitehouse McDonald's. However, after trying to eat his breakfast wrap, he felt a sharp pain in his throat.

The quarry is applying to expand. File image (Image: Newsquest) Scoping plans have been submitted for a 12-hectare quarry off the A14 in mid Suffolk. Applicant Brett Aggregates Limited, with agents SLR Consulting Limited, has submitted plans for a mineral quarry in Barham. This would see a 12ha extension of the existing 18.1ha Barham Quarry that collects sand and gravel.
