Ipswich Borough Council had previously greenlit proposals from Tammie Homes Ltd to convert what had been branded an "eyesore" site in 240 Wherstead Road. However, the company has now put it on sale through an auction with a guide price of £800,000 through Auction House East Anglia, and will go under the hammer on Wednesday, June 18. The director of the company, Matt Purnell, said that because of delays in getting planning approval, the developers had moved on to other projects.

On Friday, nearly 200 people arrived at the grounds of Christchurch Mansion's lawn for a prayer marking the festival of sacrifice, commemorating the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God. This is the third time that Eid in the Park has been held in Ipswich, and the first this year after organisers decided to skip the Eid al Fitr event in April was cancelled due to the cold weather.

Earlier this week, Cadent Gas announced that its work in Woodbridge Road was being paused as National Highways undertakes a project on the Orwell Bridge. However, this has annoyed some residents because the works had been delayed after the initial start date being postponed - saying it will "prolong the agony".

Plans were submitted to Babergh District Council by J56 Limited in February to build two sheds off the A14 in Wherstead, which would together be 228,134 sq ft in size, with a total area occupied of 679,708 sq ft for the site. However, some objections have been raised in regard to the plans - with the parish council not raising objections but adding concerns about the proposals.

Toothless in Suffolk held a protest outside Endeavour House in Ipswich, where Suffolk and North East Essex (SNEE) Integrated Care Board (ICB) is based, on Thursday to mark four years since their campaign began after two dental practices closed in Leiston in 2021. Mark Jones, the founder of the campaign, said that not much had changed in wider Suffolk since their campaign started.
