    The city of Houston’s animal shelter BARC is at full capacity. The shelter has two locations but has recently had to open pop-up kennels to meet the demand. Now, BARC is asking for the public’s help in finding these pets a good home, even if it means temporarily. On KPRC 2+ Now at 9, BARC Deputy Shelter Director Cory Stottlemyer explained that the shelter is doing all it can to help the animals. This includes extending operating hours, staying open on off days, and completely waiving adoption fees.

    A ransomware attack has prompted a health care chain that operates 30 hospitals in six states to divert patients from some of its emergency rooms to other hospitals while postponing certain elective procedures. Ardent Health Services said it took its network offline after the Nov. 23 cyberattack, adding in a statement that it suspended user access to information technology applications such as software used to document patient care.
