The federal government has revoked visas for 27 international students at the University of Texas at Arlington, university officials announced Thursday. The university has the third-highest international student population in the state, according to Open Doors. But with 17% of its budget coming from the federal government, the University of Texas at Arlington is already testing out scenarios where there could be “significant impacts,” university officials said, should some executive orders that are now on pause go into effect.

Since the Texas A&M University System acquired Texas Wesleyan University’s law school in 2013, its ascension in the U.S. News & World Report rankings is a Cinderella story. It moved from the unknown depths of the unranked to a top 100 law school in 2018. Five years later, in 2023, it cracked the top 30, ringing in at 29. A year later, it was 26th. Now, in 2025, it’s 22.
