    Arts Fort Worth is relocating to a new home, but the future of its formerly managed community arts center in the Cultural District remains uncertain. Fort Worth City Council authorized an agreement June 24 for Arts Fort Worth to lease about 850 square feet on the first floor of the new downtown library branch at 512 W. 4th St. The organization will move into the building June 26.

    A $1.7 billion, 37-acre mixed-use development that is expected to bring office, retail and multifamily development along the West Fork of the Trinity River got a nudge forward with the approval of an economic development agreement with the city. The Fort Worth City Council unanimously approved a $125 million incentive package for the westside project at its June 24 meeting.

    Jule “Grey” McGown, 90, has fond memories of his childhood at 2335 W. Rosedale St. in the Mistletoe Heights neighborhood of Fort Worth. He remembers climbing up the Forest Park Gates with his best friend Alvin “Butch” Luskey. A trip all too risky for children nowadays, he said. He also remembers when his father, George Q. McGown Jr., left his family to serve in the Navy when the U.S. entered World War II in 1941.
