3. Results 3.1. Changes in LUI during 2000–2020Forest and agricultural land made up more than 80% of the total area of the land used for land use types in Harbin (). The western portion of the city was primarily made up of agricultural areas, whereas the northern and eastern portions of the city were heavily covered in forest. All other land use types accounted for less than 10% of the area. Almost every pair of land use types experienced land conversion from 2000 to 2020.
