AMMAN, March 6 (Xinhua) -- The Jordan Armed Forces on Tuesday conducted eight joint airdrops of aid to Gaza with several countries. The airdrops, which came as part of continued efforts to deliver humanitarian aid to the residents of the Gaza Strip, were conducted by three C130 aircraft belonging to the Royal Jordanian Air Force, three American aircraft, one Egyptian aircraft, and one French aircraft, the state-run Petra news agency reported.

DUBAI, Sept. 4 (Xinhua) -- The United Arab Emirates has set up a federal authority to introduce a regulatory framework for national lottery and commercial gaming. The official news agency WAM carried an announcement late Sunday on the creation of the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA) and the appointment of Kevin Mullally as its CEO. Mullally has over 30 years of experience in national and international gaming regulation, said the report.

DUBAI, Aug. 11 (Xinhua) -- The United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Friday sent 13 tonnes of food supplies by plane to the Republic of Chad to support the Sudanese refugees and local communities, reported the official WAM news agency. DUBAI, Aug. 4 (Xinhua) -- The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) announced on Friday that it would acquire a 30-percent equity stake in a gas field off the coast of Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. Upon completion of the transaction, the ADNOC will own a 30-percent equity stake in the Absheron gas and condensate field, while the stakes held by the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) and France's TotalEnergies will shrink to 35 percent respectively, said ADNOC's press release.

MUSCAT, Aug. 2 (Xinhua) -- The assets of Oman's sovereign wealth fund, the Oman Investment Authority (OIA), have reached 17.9 billion Omani rials (about 46.5 billion U.S. dollars) in 2022, the fund said in its annual report on Wednesday. The OIA's return on investment in 2022 was 8.8 percent, said the report, adding that the fund contributed 5.6 billion rials between 2016 and 2022 to the state's general budget.
