As we move into the new year, Vosman motorists should be aware of carjacking trends in the area. This comes after a man was carjacked of his silver Volkswagen Polo Vivo outside a tavern in Phase 4. According to the report, when the man arrived at the tavern on Wednesday, January 1, the man realised the establishment was closed. Whilst reversing, at around 23:00, five men emerged out of nowhere, threatened the driver with a firearm, and instructed him to open the door.

A collision close to Ga-Nala left one person dead and the other in a critical condition. Percival Motloung from Pervical Emergency Medical Services said the motor vehicle accident on R547 between Ga-Nala and Thubelihle near the cemetery occurred on Sunday, October 13 at around 19:10. “The accident was between three vehicles, a bakkie, a private car, and a taxi. Upon arrival, the driver of the Peugeot 305 was already dead.

Witbank Provincial Hospital needs help identifying who was admitted to the ICU following an alleged assault. According to Witbank Hospital’s social worker, Busi Matechi, the man was admitted on Friday, July 12. “It was reported that he was found in downtown. He is in his early 30’s. The hospital is looking for his relatives,” Matechi said. She ended by pleading with the community of eMalahleni to assist in identifying the man. If anyone recognises the man, contact Witbank Hospital on 013 653 2000.

Five people were hospitalised in a crash between a Mini Copper and a minibus taxi on the R545. According to Percival Motloung from Percival Emergency Medical Services, the motor vehicle accident was between Ga-Nala and Rietspruit on Friday, June 28. “Passengers traveling in the taxi suffered from minor injuries,” Motloung explained. He also reported that a fleet of five minibus taxis were transporting students from Pretoria to Jozini in KwaZulu-Natal when the accident occurred.
