LINCOLN – Siblings Bhavya and Lohith Chatragadda have a lot in common: both graduated as valedictorians of their respective classes at Lincoln High School, both study neuroscience at the University of Rhode Island, and soon, Bhavya and Lohith will continue their tandem academic journeys at Brown University’s Warren Alpert Medical School. Bhavya graduates from URI this spring, and will start medical school in August.

LINCOLN – Ellisynn Letourneau and Meredith Sammon-Burns have been named Lincoln High School’s Class of 2025 valedictorian and salutatorian. “I didn’t come into high school expecting to be the valedictorian, but I just worked hard and tried my best, and at the end of my freshman year, I learned I was ranked first in my class,” said Letourneau, daughter of Jay and Sandy Letourneau.

LINCOLN – Community donations have kept the Share Shack stocked this winter. With warmer weather here and the return of a Share Shack garden, Annette Briand says she hopes the generosity will continue through the spring and summer. “People have been great; even though things are expensive, I’ve really seen a lot of people stepping up to make sure the Shack is never empty,” said Briand, founder of the Shack, located on Gousy Street.

LINCOLN – Food Truck Fridays are almost here. Organizers say beginning May 23, residents of and visitors to the Blackstone Valley can look forward to free, family-friendly, weekly food truck events in Lincoln. For the last decade or so, Food Truck Fridays have been a staple at Roger Williams Park in Providence. Every week during the summer, various food trucks from around the state set up in the park, welcoming patrons to try something new, listen to live performers, and enjoy a casual night out.

LINCOLN – The long-awaited School Street sewer, water main, and repavement project has begun, with detour routes set to go into effect May 15. “We’ve been talking about this and planning for this for several years,” said Town Administrator Phil Gould. “School Street is a state road, so in order to do the underground work, we had to wait until the state was ready.
