    Several former boxers and people interested in boxing have teamed up together to revive boxing in eMalahleni. Judas Ngobeni brother to Lawrence Ngobeni and a former boxer himself who used to fight as a lightweight will be teaming with other former boxers. Sipho Mashego who is the ring announcer of the year for 2023 is one of the people and Peter Thabethe intends to apply for a promoter’s licence next year (2024). Judas will also apply for a matchmaker licence next year as well.

    Inkosi Nsizwa Mahlangu of Mrhetjha Royal House hosted a Christmas party for the elderly at his royal home. In partnership with other stakeholders Inkosi Mahlangu thought that this was a good time to bring the elderly together to show them love and showered them with gifts. The event was held at the royal house in Hlalanikahle on Saturday, December 16.Inkosi had partnered with Kakaramba Foundation, Sisonke Foundation and One Goal Football Foundation.

    As promised Mpumalanga junior welterweight champion Xolani Mgidi fought and defended his provincial title well. Mgidi won the fight against Humbulani Netshamtshedzi in a technical knockout (TKO) in round two after only 40 seconds into the round.The Ilanga Boxing Promotions tournament took place at Middelburg Banquet Hall on Friday, December 15, in support of 16 Days of Activism Against GBV through boxing.

    Both United Masters and 3D Masters played a very entertaining soccer game when they faced each other on the last day of the Witbank KwaGuqa Masters League. There are six teams affiliated in the Masters League and it was formed this year. Several clubs have come together to form a league. From the start, 3D was on the attack, and they scored their first goal which was ruled not to be a goal.

    The ABC Motsepe League doubleheader match between Mpumalanga Football Academy the host and Ehlazeni United took place at the Puma Stadium. The first match on Saturday, December 9 was between Destiny College and Mpumalanga Future United. In the Academy/United match the log leaders attacked Academy winger Thapelo Dhludhlu and nearly scored but his shot was blocked. Not to be outdone United Shongwe Victor Shongwe also had a shot at goal but it went wide.
