MUMBAI, April 17 (Reuters) - The Indian rupee rose on Thursday to log its best weekly performance in a month as foreign portfolio inflows into Indian equities picked up and as the dollar remained on the defensive amid concerns about how tariffs would affect the world's largest economy.
The rupee closed at 85.3675 against the U.S. dollar, up from its close at 85.6775 in the previous session. The currency rose about 0.8% week-on-week, its best weekly gain since March 17.

April 16 (Reuters) - European shares slipped on Wednesday after a strong start to the week, weighed down by chip supplier ASML's warning that U.S. tariffs were increasing uncertainty around its outlook for 2025 and 2026.

JOHANNESBURG, March 27 (Reuters) - South Africa's rand weakened on Thursday as markets fretted over U.S. President Donald Trump's tariffs due next week.
At 1407 GMT, the rand traded at 18.3375 against the U.S. dollar , about 0.4% weaker than its previous close.
The dollar was last down about 0.3% against a basket of currencies.
Trump on Wednesday announced 25% tariffs on all vehicles and foreign-made auto parts imported into the U.S. to go into effect after midnight on April 3.

March 25 (Reuters) - Gold prices edged higher on Tuesday amid persistent uncertainty over impending reciprocal U.S. tariffs and their impact on the global economy.
Spot gold rose 0.3% at $3,021.24 an ounce, as of 0928 GMT. U.S. gold futures firmed 0.3% to $3,025.
Spot gold hit a record high of $3,057.21 on March 20.
