German citizens who live abroad are reporting they didn’t receive their absentee ballots with enough time to return them to be counted in Sunday’s election. “For the first time in my life, I was unable to vote in a national election,” wrote Karl Doemens, the United States correspondent for the German Newsrooms Network in Washington. “Done. Over,” he added. Doemens said he was “pissed off” — and thousands of Germans are in the same situation, he posted on Bluesky.

Ravensteingalerij 8What’s good? Entering the one-room restaurant, your sense of smell is already piqued by aromas like savory fish sauce, zesty lemongrass and silky coconut milk. Chez Mymy’s Vietnamese and Thai offering — a limited menu that changes every week — is unfailingly fresh. The tom yam kung, or hot-and-sour shrimp soup, was tasty despite its ingredients being adapted to Central Europe (e.g. cremini instead of straw mushrooms).

Members of the European Parliament have to follow many rules — from an official code of conduct to national laws, to European Union regulations. But there are certain things you really shouldn’t do — and a few you probably shouldn’t, but might anyway. From Qatargate to kickbacks, here’s some immoral advice for politicians on taboo tactics for EU lawmakers and associates.

Ravensteingalerij 15, 1000 BrusselsWhat’s good? This place certainly lives up to its name, serving a full array of Indian food — without meat. Pure Veg India has it all: curries, veggie dishes, rice (both white and yellow), samosas, naan, papadum … plus those doughy balls soaking in honey juice. Not to mention a full salad bar and a couple of chutneys to boot. It’s an all-you-can-eat buffet, so grab your thali (compartmentalized metal tray) and go to town.

I thought this story I wrote might work on this platform since it’s gotten so right-wing. It’s related to the rise of the right in Belgium https://t.co/GlLPRfWOek
