The Grosse Ile Parkway Bridge will be closed to all vehicle and pedestrian traffic starting at 7 a.m. May 1. According to a press release from the Wayne County Department of Public Services, the closure is for structural steel repairs and is expected to last about eight weeks, but it is dependent on weather conditions and if there are any unforeseen delays. During the closure, there will be barriers at both ends of the bridge. All vehicle traffic will be rerouted via the Grosse Ile Toll Bridge.

Lincoln Park Preservation Alliance is having a Petunia Seed Sale from 2 to 6 p.m. April 26 to celebrate the centennial of Lincoln Park. The event will take place in the parking lot of the Lincoln Park Historical Museum, located at 1335 Southfield Road in Lincoln Park. Petunias have been the city flower since February 6, 1939, when the Lincoln Park mayor and city council approved a resolution at the request of the Lincoln Park Woman’s Club.
