The Foundry was packed with eager fans waiting to see San Diego indie pop band almost monday on Saturday, Feb. 11 for the Philadelphia stop on their “DIVE” tour, named after their debut album. The deluxe version of the album was released just a few weeks ago on Wednesday, Jan. 22. The opener, Adrian Lyles, who also plays Jett on the television series “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series,” took the stage at 8 p.m. sporting a black leather bomber jacket and a silver chain.

Drexel University’s Board of Trustees announced that by a unanimous vote Antonio Merlo, PhD, has been confirmed as the 16th president of Drexel University in a press release on Friday, Jan. 31. Merlo is set to assume his position on July 1, succeeding Interim President Denis P. O’Brien. O’Brien is confident in Merlo’s upcoming tenure.

Drexel University students will be off on Election Day, Tuesday Nov. 5, for the first time in the institution’s history, with administrative offices remaining open. This closure is a direct result of efforts by the Undergraduate Student Government Association that began in 2019, with former USGA student leadership Maisie MacMullan, Jarod Watson and John Bonnes securing a half day off for students on Election Day in 2020.
