The opening date for the Grand Egyptian Museum has been delayed until the final quarter of 2025. The long-awaited grand opening of the world’s largest archaeological museum was due to take place in July, but has been pushed back due to “current regional developments”, officials say, as tensions escalate between Israel and Iran. The news was announced by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities on Saturday.

The Trump administration is considering expanding the US travel ban to an additional 36 countries, according to an internal State Department cable first obtained by the Washington Post. "The Department has identified 36 countries of concern that might be recommended for full or partial suspension of entry if they do not meet established benchmarks and requirements within 60 days," the cable says, per Reuters.
