It's another warm and humid day here in the Coachella Valley as we continue to track tropical moisture throughout the region. The moisture is leading to thunderstorms nearby, particularly over the mountains and higher elevations. As of 4 PM, there remains a Flood Advisory, Flash Flood Warning, and Severe Thunderstorm Warning in the High Desert near Twentynine Palms. Tomorrow, we will continue to track some seasonal temperatures and elevated moisture levels.

Summers are warming all across the country. According to Climate Central, 97% of locations analyzed now experience average summer temperatures warmer than in the 1970s. In total, by an average of 2.6°F. The areas that have seen the most warming include the Southwest and Northwest. Here at home in the Coachella Valley, summers have warmed for us as well. In fact, we have warmed up by about 3.1°F, half a degree more than the average for the rest of the United States.

Happy Monday. It's warm and slightly humid out there... a bit unusual for this time of year. Temperatures today are fairly close to the seasonal average, especially in the west valley. Temperatures are slightly lower in the east valley thanks to slightly more moisture in the air. Winds today will be typical for this time of year. Heading into Tuesday and Wednesday, another weak area of low pressure will move into the region. This will keep our moisture levels elevated.

Good morning! It's a warm morning to welcome the month of June, with temperatures much warmer than the same time 24 hours ago (for now). Temperatures stayed warm overnight, but will be held back this afternoon thanks to the excess moisture. Expect an overall cloudy and more humid day. We are tracking rain throughout the day today. The likeliest chance will be this evening, with the east valley seeing a greater chance for rain. It will gradually warm up into next week.

Good morning and happy Friday! Today will be the warmest day of the week with highs in excess of 105°F. Winds will be calm and skies will be predominantly clear. Moisture levels are a little higher today as an area of low pressure starts to funnel in some upper-level moisture. As low pressure moves into the region over the weekend, we will see a number of changes. We are already seeing a slight uptick in moisture both here at the surface and higher up in the atmosphere.
