(WBTV) - The intersection of a highway in south Charlotte on Friday was closed due to a vehicle crash investigation by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, according to Charlotte Fire. Charlotte Fire said on Friday, May 9, that the intersection of Woodlawn and Park Road has been closed while Charlotte police conducted the investigation. Charlotte police said that a bicyclist and a vehicle were involved in vehicle crash.

BOONE, N.C. (WBTV) - Shockwaves were sent through the campus of Appalachian State University Wednesday night after a report of a sexual assault occurred in a dorm, according to school officials. Campus police said the assault was reported to have occurred Wednesday night and in a freshman dorm in the Blue Ridge Mountains. School officials said on Thursday evening that the suspect had not been identified and a description of the person had not been released at the time of this writing.
