GREENVILLE COUNTY — The developer behind the proposed hotel at Paris Mountain has announced a plan to share part of the hotel's profits with area colleges and universities, just as a political milestone for the project looms. It's not clear, however, if those institutions will participate, and details remain scarce. In fact, the school that's closest to the development site — Furman University — said it wouldn't accept the money.

GREENVILLE — After originally pursuing a plan to overhaul the Bons Secours Wellness Arena's campus with the help of a tax increase, arena leaders have returned with a new plan for an entertainment hub that wouldn't require one in the first phase. The first step — as unveiled April 17 — would be the $150 million arena phase of the project, which would concentrate on improving the venue’s interior for guests and performers alike, capped by an modernized main entrance and expanded accessibility.
