A Cape May woman has been arrested for allegedly using an electric dog shock collar on her child, according to a statement from the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office. Kimberly Cruz-Feliciano, 30, was arrested and charged in a child abuse investigation, officials said. The child’s grandmother, Sonia Feliciano, 59, of Cape May, was also charged in the probe.

A man died after a shooting in Paterson Saturday evening, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office. Shortly after 5 p.m., police arrived to the area of 12th Avenue and East 24th Street, where they found a 21-year-old Garfield man who had suffered multiple gunshot wounds, the statement said. The man, who was not identified, was taken to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, according to officials. The shooting is still under investigation.

Officials are investigating the death of a 63-year-old inmate at the Hudson County Correctional Facility, according to a statement. The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office is probing the death of Derrick Ellis, of Jersey City, who was found unresponsive in his cell in the medical unit around 12:15 p.m. on Friday, the statement said. Ellis was taken to Jersey City Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead about an hour later.
