The agency oversees the Federal National Mortgage Association (Fannie Mae), the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corp. (Freddie Mac) and the Federal Home Loan Bank System. Together, Fannie and Freddie make up the Government Sponsored Enterprises (GSEs).
