    A mid the 2009 recession, 19-year-old Kevin Miller did what most people wouldn’t do: he opened his business, Stem Event Design, formerly Twigs and Branches Floral. After working for both Viviano Flower Shop and Bellisario Florist, Miller garnered loads of experience. He combined that with his love of design and gardening, and his business was born. In his first year of operation, Miller worked out of his parents’ basement and took on 17 clients.
