There are nearly 7,000 languages in the world, and God knows every single one. We marvel at the variety and complexity of language, but this wasn’t God’s original design. It’s hard to escape the suffering around us, and it’s no secret that our broken world is hungry for peace. We groan for solutions. We hope that our civic and national leaders will reduce the conflicts, but things just seem to be getting worse. Where can we turn? There’s only one viable solution, one answer, to a world in distress. And it can be found in just one place, or should I say, in just one person—Jesus. Jesus is the central figure in history.
