Not that we didn’t expect the offer would be rejected. That seemed a reasonable bet.

Boeing and its largest union said Sunday they had reached agreement on a new contract that, if ratified, will avoid a strike that threatened to shut down aircraft production by the end of the coming week. Boeing said 33,000 workers represented by the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers would get pay raises of 25 percent over the four-year contract, with average wages rising 33 percent due to seniority step increases.

Hi everyone,I live in Ottobrunn (a Munich suburb) that is home to a huge Airbus production site. The house I live in was originally built for an Airbus employee! So perhaps I’ve read more about Boeing and its downfall because of it 😉 The thing is, I was not originally very interested in the giants of the aerospace industry. I am not one of those who scrutinise aircraft sales (or car sales for that matter) to determine the health of the economy.

Chris Raymond, chief sustainability officer of Boeing (NYSE: BA) since October 2020, has been appointed president and CEO of the defense contractor's global services business segment. He will assume his new role on Jan. 1 and succeed Stephanie Pope, who will transition to the chief operating officer post at Boeing, the company said Thursday. Raymond's new responsibilities include overseeing the Boeing business that provides aerospace services to commercial and government customers worldwide.
