A wildlife border is a safe space for local critters and animals to feed, rest, hibernate, and reproduce. By dedicating a small strip of our garden just for the wildlife, we can turn our space into a place that works alongside our local ecosystem rather than fight against it. Those weeds in my front yard? Those are for the pollinators. Those seed heads? I’m leaving them for the birds. That mess of brambles? Those are for the little mammals. That pile of empty plant pots I’ve been meaning to recycle?

Visiting hummingbirds are one of the greatest garden delights. The sound of their wings, the speed of their movements, the shimmer of their feathers – all this makes them a highly attractive garden guest. Invite them to your garden with this hummingbird food recipe. A month after my mother passed away, a hummingbird came up to me when I was in the garden. She came close to my face and fluttered in place while looking directly into my eyes.

The beauty of peonies doesn’t have to be seasonal. While gorgeous garden peonies only last in the garden for a few weeks and have a showy but limited vase life, you can preserve the beauty all year by drying the petals and making a gorgeous, naturally-scented peony bath salts recipe. Peonies are a garden showstopper. They are tolerant of poor soil, grow well in Zones 2 through 8 and, and will bloom for up to 50 years if they are happy.

Grow this fresh and bold herb for yourself to really make your cooking taste that much better. Here’s how to grow basil at home!If I asked you to name a herb, I bet you basil would be one of the first words that pop into your head. People absolutely love basil, and it’s quickly become a staple in Western cuisine in the past few decades.

Throwback to one year ago when I planted this tulip border. I was aiming for lots of colour in a curved, naturalized design - and I loved the results. Thank you to @flowerbulbscom for sponsoring this frenzy of tulip bulbs. 🌷 #flowerbulbs.com #flowerbulbsdotcom https://t.co/ElKBqmRLcH

I’ve been really curious about those compact kitchen composters – the kind that claims to transform scraps into fertiziler in just a few hours - Check it out in action! https://t.co/oijSNO7e6T
