Share COPAKE, NY (WRGB) — The Columbia County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal plane crash in the Copake area. According to the sheriff's office, the plane went down in an open field at around noon, and did not hit any structures before doing so. They said the field is "very muddy" due to the snow, making accessibility difficult. The undersheriff at the scene said only one plane was involved. Victim notifications have not yet been made.

ROTTERDAM, NY (WRGB) — A Utica man faces several drug and traffic charges after a Rotterdam traffic stop this week. On April 6, State Police arrested Raheeb M. Al Ammari, 27, of Utica, charging him with two counts of Criminal Possession of Cannabis in the first degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the fifth degree, and multiple Vehicle and Traffic Law violations.

ALBANY, NY (WRGB) — Two individuals were arrested for weapon possession Friday after a search warrant was executed at a residence on South Pearl Street. At around 1:15 p.m. Friday, members of the Albany Police Department executed a search warrant at a residence on the 600 block of South Pearl Street in connection with reports that a dog had been stolen on Wednesday, April 9, 2025. During the search, the stolen Yorkshire terrier was located inside the residence.
