A few isolated showers will be possible early, then a break in the rain will allow temperatures to jump near 80 degrees, fueling gusty storms that could develop early afternoon.

Look for a much-needed break between storm systems on Wednesday with sunshine and comfortable temperatures for storm damage clean-up. Showers return early Thursday, with a period of steady rain and the threat for afternoon storms. A few storms could be strong to severe but widespread damage like we saw Tuesday is not expected at this time. Off and on showers continue through Saturday, with fantastic weather returning for Sunday, just in time for the Pittsburgh Marathon.

PITTSBURGH — You’ll need your winter coat all day long on Tuesday, as highs will only make it to the upper 30s. Gusty winds will keep wind chills in the 20s through the day. There will be a chance for flurries or a few snow showers in the area through the day as well. Temperatures stay below average through the week, but highs will get back to the 40s and 50s. The next chance for rain will arrive Thursday, bringing a wet end to the work week. Make sure to check the latest forecast on Channel 11 News.

PITTSBURGH — Several rounds of wet weather will impact your plans this week, with the first moving in early Tuesday. Showers arrive before sunrise and continue off and on through the morning keeping roads wet and slowing the morning commute. Most of the rain will wrap up around noon with a few showers possible during the evening. The next system brings showers back into the area Wednesday afternoon with showers continuing through part of the day Thursday.
