Jazz Chisholm Jr. was ejected during the top of the seventh inning during the New York Yankees 6-3 win over the Tampa Bay Rays on Thursday night. Chisholm struck out looking on a full count and vehemently disagreed with the call. As the announcers quickly noted, the pitch was not in the strike zone and seemed like a make-up call.

Juan Soto went 0-for-5 on Wednesday night as the New York Mets lost to the Minnesota Twins. Considering Soto signed the biggest deal in the history of baseball to come to play for the Mets, the team and fans expected more and at least one fan—Sal Licata of New York's WFAN—is already furious with the lack of results. Licata went off on Soto on his radio show on Thursday, saying he has failed in every "big spot" that the month of April has produced.

This is very bad news for Yankees assistant hitting coach Pat Roessler. Why? Because whenever Chisholm hits a homer this year, he bites the coach. Steve Angeli, the Notre Dame quarterback, is entering the transfer portal according to On3. Angeli, a redshirt junior, started one game in 2023 and threw seven touchdowns and one touchdown as Sam Hartman's backup. When Hartman turned pro, Riley Leonard transferred in from Duke and took over starting duties. Angeli did not play much last season, but got some high-profile snaps in Notre Dame's College Football Playoff semifinal against Penn State when Leonard got hurt.
