Congratulations to Martin Avons, Ben Price, and Reuben Judge who are the Angling Trust Tronix Pro Species Hunt champions for 2023-24. Starting in April 2023 and running until the end of March this year, this fun, friendly competition is open to all and challenges anglers to catch as many different fish species as possible from the shore. The competition is split into three leagues with tables for Seniors, Juniors, and Elite anglers – selected from the top 30 anglers the previous season.

Angling Trust England Ladies manager Dave Brooks has selected one of the strongest line ups of anglers ever assembled for the 2024 Ladies Coarse World Champs, following his assessment day at Makins last weekend. Retaining their places from last year’s squad are reigning World Champion Helen Dagnall, plus Samantha Sim, Kayleigh Dowd, May Potter, and Leanne Knott.

The Angling Trust is calling on the best feeder anglers over 55 years of age to apply for an assessment day for the 2024 England Masters Feeder squad. Team manager Nigel Franks and captain Tom Pickering are looking for anglers with the right abilities to suit the 2024 competition venues – in Hungary and Belgium – and to further strengthen the team going forward.

ENGLAND manager Mark Downes has selected his squads for the 2024 World and European Championships this week and is looking to build on the success of last year’s events. In 2023 the squad staged an incredible second day charge which saw them earn team silver and both silver and bronze individual medals at the Worlds in Spain. Captain William Raison also claimed the individual silver at the 2023 Euros with the team just a couple of fish shy of a bronze medal too.
