NEW HOME — New Home baseball coach Brady Webb isn't going to complain about an abundance of pitching talent, but there is a small drawback. There are times, like last season, when the Leopards have so many capable arms there aren't enough innings for all of them. On the flip side, it allows players to emerge seemingly out of nowhere. Such was the case for Graham Stanford. A catcher the majority of his time with New Home, Stanford took control of the No. 1 pitching spot this spring.

Rowin Donaldson helped the Seminole baseball team achieve a rare feat in impressive fashion Saturday. The senior right-hander tossed a complete-game one-hitter in Seminole's 5-0 win over Mineral Wells in Game 3 of their Region I-4A Division I final series Saturday at Graham. Donaldson recorded 11 strikeouts, one walk and two hit batters on 96 pitches. He hit 1 for 4 with one run out of the leadoff position.

CLYDE — The Sundown softball team certainly didn't have any qualms with Thursday night's weather delay. Lightning in the area paused Game 1 of the state semifinal series against Muenster with the Roughettes down two runs in the fifth inning. The almost three hours of waiting didn't include any sulking — or much discussion of strategy, either. "We went in the bus and we partied," Sundown junior Breigh Gregory said.
