    What ‘s Henry Johnson got to do with War with Iran? Simple, Trump couldn’t stand a Black man’s accomplishments. Johnson was a war hero but Trump had to remove his name from Army installations. Barach Obama was a Black president who signed a nuclear treaty with Iran that was working too well – it was repeatedly verified that Iran was sticking within treaty limits – so Trump repudiated it in his first term.

    Is an official who denies the fundamental principles of the Declaration of Independence, ignores the obligation to obey constitutional limitations, violates his oath of office, ignores court decisions and uses the office for private gain, a loyal American? The Declaration of Independence begins its explanation of the decision to separate from England with the words: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.” Mr. Trump denies that we are created equal.

    I’m too old for nightmares. So let me tell you about mine. I’m still writing and delivering regular commentary because I care, about the station, my family – my wife, children and grandchildren – and about you. But many economists predict a downturn, which would shrivel my retirement savings like everyone else’s.

    There are reports that people have been picked up, detained or deported without due process. Why should we care? When people are picked up, should we assume they did something wrong? Do they suddenly lose rights to a lawyer and a hearing because they were picked up? Some people are rounded up in groups or crowds, or picked up because they have tattoos or beards. I was questioned and searched when I tried to board a plane because I had a short beard.

    I never thought of my birthday as a particularly significant event. Plus it’s pure hearsay because I can’t remember being born at all. And it would be fine with me to keep my current age a couple of more years. But now WAMC has decided to start its Spring fund drive on my birthday. So I’ve decided to treat all contributions to the station as a birthday present and cheer for each one!That said, I’m worried about our country’s future.
