An investigation is underway following a house fire in the southeast Calgary community of Lynwood early Saturday morning. At around 12:35 a.m., the Calgary Fire Department responded to reports of a fire at the 100 block of Lynwood Crescent, where they were met by residents and a detached, single family home with smoke and flames coming out the back of the house. The fire was spreading quickly from an outdoor deck to the rear of the house, a garage and a tree.

An investigation is underway into a wildfire that started west of Vermilion Lakes in Banff National Park Saturday, adjacent to the Trans-Canada Highway. The park posted on Facebook Saturday afternoon that crews from the Town of Banff Fire Department and Parks Canada were able to quickly bring the blaze under control. They said there’s no current threat to public safety, but fire crews remain on scene to extinguish the fire.

City ordered to pay River Run townhome owners over $300K in legal expenses

The ruling was based on an assessment of the total legal fees associated with the inquiry that was launched in July, 2023.
