Sunds Fibertech has signed a contract with Unidbtplus to install the Internal Resin Injection System at Unidbtplus’ MDF plant in South Korea. Unidbtplus operates an MDF plant at Gunsan, with a production capacity of 500,000m3. This innovative solution will boost energy efficiency and sustainability in MDF production. The Internal Resin Injection System will be installed at Unidbtplus to help achieve significant resin and steam savings, while also reducing CO2 emissions.

International technology group Andritz has delivered a pressurized refining system to Metro Decorative Pvt Ltd in India. The new line at the MDF production facility in Kashipur has now successfully produced its first fibres. “We wanted to work together with a company that has deep expertise in the panelboard industry, and our collaboration with ANDRITZ has proven successful,” said Aman Garg, director of Metro Decorative Pvt Ltd.

Uniboard has announced an investment of $5.5m in an innovative robotic material handling system at its Val-d’Or particleboard plant. Timber sector organisations have welcomed the Government’s new commitment to the Timber in Construction Roadmap following an important summit in central London. New, ambitious plans to increase the use of timber in construction to boost the domestic timber industry, economic growth, rural jobs and housebuilding targets, were announced by UK Environment Minister Mary Creagh at the Timber in Construction (TiC) Summit in London on February 27.
