Four eggs were laid in the spring of 2024 [Birds of Poole Harbour]The lives of the only pair of breeding ospreys on the south coast of England are being showcased in a series of videos released by conservationists. A reintroduction programme began in Poole Harbour, Dorset in 2017 and this summer saw four chicks hatch - the highest annual figure so far. Hundreds of hours of footage from a nest webcam have been trawled through to produce five social media videos.

Entitled Abeona, the suspended artwork will span three floors inside of Poole Museum which is undergoing a £10.3m revamp. The sculpture is set to reflect the area's seafaring heritage with carvings of marine life and contemporary stories.

Investigation work is continuing after three people died from suspected carbon monoxide poisoning at a care home. Seven people were taken to hospital and residents were evacuated from Gainsborough Care Home in Swanage, Dorset, early on Wednesday. A 60-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter on Wednesday evening. Tributes have been paid to the local community for "stepping in" to help the affected elderly residents.

Emergency services were called to the care home in the early hours of Wednesday [BBC]A woman has been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter following the deaths of three people at a care home. Dorset Police said earlier the deaths at the Gainsborough Care Home in Swanage, were being treated as "unexplained" but potential carbon monoxide poisoning was the "primary line of inquiry". Emergency services were called to Gainsborough Care Home in Ulwell Road in Swanage, Dorset, at 05:20 BST.
