A biannual injection that "switches off" high blood pressure could soon make daily pills a thing of the past. A single dose of the drug, known as zilebesiran, can manage the condition for up to six months, with minimal side effects. The majority of patients experienced a drop in blood pressure after one jab, equating to a 20 per cent or more decrease in the risk of experiencing a heart attack, stroke or other cardiac event. Some people could even stop taking all blood pressure medication.

A woman has been slapped with a trespassing charge after she allegedly entered an elderly woman's home in Florida without permission and gave her a hug. The accused, 47-year-old Natalie Lynn Slavek, reportedly didn't know the homeowner. After giving her a surprise embrace, she then made herself comfortable by sitting on a living room chair and even taking a brief rest on a bed. The bizarre home invasion concluded with Slavek taking a swim in the pool.

A lottery winner thought he was having a heart attack after winning the top prize in the South Carolina Education Lottery game. The grandad, who remained anonymous, from the Midlands had spent $10 on a scratch-off lottery ticket. He ended walking away with a staggering $300,000 and called his new-found wealth "fun". He also described the sensation of having a heart attack as changing to, "a wonderful feeling in the end,” after realizing that he had won.
