Less than an hour after Cody Balmer allegedly firebombed Gov. Josh Shapiro’s Harrisburg residence, he called 911 and told dispatchers he’d targeted the governor because of “what he wants to do to the Palestinian people,” according to a search warrant carried out by Pennsylvania State Police in the aftermath of the predawn attack Sunday. “You all know where to find me,” Balmer told the 911 call-taker, according to the search warrant.

The last remnants of the coal stacks at the former Homer City Generating Station were demolished on Sunday morning in preparation for a sweeping reinvention of the power plant. The Indiana County facility is set to be converted into a massive natural gas-fired plant that will power a major datacenter campus in the coming years.

Allegheny County Council’s Democratic members will be busy in the coming weeks, as they look to fill the seat of David Bonaroti, who announced last week he’s resigning later this month. In the days since Mr. Bonaroti announced he’s leaving because his day job at Google is requiring him to relocate to the Carolinas, 10 to 15 people have expressed interest in his seat, said Council President Patrick Catena.
