The figure was pulled down by a steep drop in auto sales, after Americans ramped up their car-buying in March to get ahead of Trump’s 25% duty on imported cars and car parts.

The family of a man who died in the Allegheny County Jail’s custody in September 2023 has filed a federal lawsuit against jail and Allegheny Health Network officials, claiming lack of adequate medical treatment led to his death. Damages, if the family wins, could amount to millions of dollars. Zachary Sahm, of Glasgow, was arrested and put into custody of the Allegheny County Jail in September 2023, where he tested positive for fentanyl and heroin use, the lawsuit stated.
