Jocelyn and Clay Galvez don’t look like “radicals.” Or maybe they do. The word “radical” is losing its meaning these days, with everyone who doesn’t fall in line with the new administration’s policies labeled as a “far-left radical.” Recently, President Donald Trump called NPR and PBS part of the “radical left” and I don’t know how I would describe Kermit the Frog, the hosts of PBS NewsHour or the folks at “Wait, Wait, Don’t Tell Me,” but “radical” isn’t it.

The fire captain had been busted down to firefighter for some pretty gross comments he made on Facebook about Black protesters during the George Floyd protests.

In April, Gov. Bill Lee signed into law House Bill 843, which mandates that “materials in a library collection must be suitable for the age and maturity levels of the students who may access the materials and must be suitable for, and consistent with, the educational mission of the school.”The full text of the bill and those suitability requirements can be found here. As a result, schools have begun removing from their shelves books students have read for decades.

Nashville is officially in the running for a professional women’s soccer franchise. HerGame Nashville LLC, led by sports agent Lonnie Murray, has assembled an ownership group for a National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) club that includes Dallas Mavericks coach Jason Kidd, former NBA star Chris Mullin, Lisa Debartolo, 1999 World Cup winner Lorrie Fair, Murray’s husband Dave Stewart and Aurelian Capital. The prospective team would play games at Geodis Park.
