A fresh round of strong thunderstorms with heavy rainfall and strong winds are expected to arrive late tonight. There’s some chance that more showers and fewer thunderstorms may be served up, but it’s too soon to say for sure. Lows tonight in the mid 60s. Wednesday sees a continued chance of thunderstorms at 60%. Highs in the muggy mid 80s.

Clouds increase tonight and a few sprinkles (much like we had Wednesday morning) are possible, but the main event takes place later in the day Thursday when a strong cold front barrels through our skies. Temperatures ahead of the front are expected to soar into the upper 80s within a very humid air mas,, there is going to be a lot of potential storm energy released by the lift along the front. So, we’re talking thunderstorms and a few probably severe by mid-afternoon through mid-evening.

It’s just a few random showers as we move into the evening, but there’s a small chance of a severe thunderstorm making its way into Texoma later tonight. The timing would be 9 pm to midnight for this low severe storm chance. The odds are greatest along and west of I-35. It’s a windy forecast tonight with lows in the upper 60s, and gusty southerly winds of 25 to 35 mph.

Two batches of thunderstorms are expected tonight: one round will move up from central Texas while another area of storms forms and moves eastward from west Texas this evening. These storm clusters are expected to converge on Texoma with a high chance of thunderstorms. Some of these may be severe with large hail the primary concern, but an isolated tornado is also possible.
